Nobody wants to mess with Boras and other agents of his ilk.

However, I'm not seeing much in the way of midrange to lower-round draft picks accomplishing anything. What I'm seeing here in New Britain is sad -- unable to compete at this level. Injuries in Minnesota and Rochester have played a huge part in the downfall but fans in New Britain and Rochester deserve better. There hasn't been a winner here since 2003.Ken Lipshezhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12765267331754282870noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1906311502598356810.post-91468084008196307072008-06-11T17:21:00.000-04:002008-06-11T17:21:00.000-04:00I'm not sure it's failing of the organization in "...I'm not sure it's failing of the organization in "unearthing the best talent over the last four or five years" as much as it is a failing of the system. Anytime you draft someone you have to be able to sign them and in some cases, the money these kids want to sign is outside the Twins budget. Chalk that one up to the agents - and to teams like the Yankees and the Red Sox - who can throw exceptional amounts of money around.

I think the system itself fails to provide a level playing field and penalizes smaller market teams.Diannahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17102093471979033560noreply@blogger.com
